About the Course
Music History, Theory & Composition is one of 3 rotational classes held on Thursdays for students in grades 2-8. The other 2 classes are Literature, and Drawing. Students will rotate with their age group (2nd-4th, 4th-6th and 6th-8th) to their 3 45-min classes with a 15 min snack break between their first 2 classes and a 10min break between classes 2 and 3.
In this class, students will spend part of class learning the rich and varied history of music using a variety of resources and part of the class learning about music theory and composition using "Alfred's Music Theory" as a spine. Weekly lesson plans and suggested continued learning activities will be available for parents before the semester begins. Homework may be required some weeks.

Mrs. Gina
Mrs. Gina has been a CCL parent since we opened in the Fall of 2022, and has been teaching with us since 2023. She taught Spanish during the 23/24 and 24/25 school years, and the music theory and composition class during the 24/25 school year. She is a wonderful, creative teacher who brings lots of fun and learning to her classes!
